Italian Biscotti Recipe

Italian Biscotti Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp orange extract
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup almonds, slivered

Italian Biscotti Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, orange extract and zest until combined. Gradually add salt, baking powder and flour and mix thoroughly. Fold in almonds.
  3. Shape dough on floured board to desired thickness. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes on lightly greased cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack for 15 minutes.
  4. Slice loaf diagonally and arrange slices on baking sheet. Bake on each side for about 7 minutes or until crispy.
